House Sports Day

Hi guys,

this time I'm really fast, because the House Sports Day was yesterday on the friday 13th of february.
The four houses of our school - blue, red, green and yellow - needed to 'fight' in different competitions against each other. I'm in the blue house - the best of course, even tho we lost i think we all were in the best mood, had a great parade, good team work and house captains and the best dance ever.
Our theme was Frozen, green was Ninja Turtles, yellow was snapchat and red was house of horror (that was kind of perfect, because it was friday the 13th.)

First of all there was a parade - every house had to find a theme, music and a good story, had to bake a cake, make decoration, write a chant and convince the jury with the result.
The blue house had to start, because we lost last year.
We were marching and shouting out blue with every second step, then we skipped to the jury and danced. Tyler our female house captain was Elsa, she saved us from the bad guys (3 guys in the colours of the other houses) and then they had to do the ice bucket challenge and their white shirts turned thru the blue water blue.

That was a part of our amazing 'cake'. I think it was jelly.

Ninja Turtels - green house

snapchat - yellow house

house of horror - red house

challenge: basketball

challenge: water slide

challenge: three-legged-run

challenge: gumboot throwing

the other challenges were:
- Sodoku
- theater sports
- chicken run
- get water thru pipe into ton

Karaoke:

From each house the boys and the girls had to sing one song. We sang Mamma Mia and became second.

yellow girls

red girls

The last events were the pool challenges. Every house had to find for the first two challenges 6 junior girls, 6 junior boys, 6 intermedia girls, 6 intermedia boys, 6 senior girls and 6 senior boys.

The first challenge was "over-&-under" thru hoops.

And then the "swim in a big T-shirt"-challenge. The swimmer had to give the shirt to the next swimmer, it sounds complicated, but they had a special technique to put it off and on.

Unfortunatly we didn't win that many pool challenges, but it was great fun. Btw I didn't swim, because I had no idea what i would have to do.

After that every house (first the girls then the boys) had to go into the pool for the last challenge.
The challenge was getting the house captain dry to the other side of the pool. First the overall had to get to the side of the pool where the house captain was waiting for it. Then everybody jumped in and we formed a cue, you had to find a partner and then the pairs formed a "X" with their arms. The goal was to keep the overall as dry as possible and be as fast as possible. That worked quite good.
Green became first and we second.

Yellow vs green

Blue vs red

Then it was time to announce the winner.

1. Green
2. Red
3. Yellow
4. Blue

Happy house captains of the green house and the headmaster with the trophy.

Congratulations green!

Red won the last 11 years (not sure if it is a rumor or not) so everybody was happy that it changed - that's why they probably decided that green wins. But last year blue won the parade, so we are not that bad and many people thought that the parade of yellow was really bad this year, but anyway.. it was a great day and so much fun. For me it was like Harry Potter and I loved it. Everybody developed team spirit and that was the first time that I catched the spirit.
One of the best days I had so far.
