subjects

Hey guys,

i said i will write a post and now i do.
Well, in general my school day starts at 8:45 am. Per day i have 5 periods and 2 breaks - intervall and lunch.
Here my timetable, i hope you can imagine it better thru that:

But - i change the timetable. My subjects now are:



#1. Fabric Technology - sewing
One of my favourite subjects and it makes so much fun to finish your own work and use it.

#2. Food Technology
The theory gets more and more boring.. but that's alright, because every friday we cook!! And that's just great. 

 That looks disgusting, i know, but it tasted really good! :D

And that is simply the best thing i've every tryed!!!!!!!


#3. Health
It's boring, i just sitting around. We talk about the ability to manage changes.
I don't need to say more..  i don't need to know that :D


#4. Maths
I was first in Year 11 maths, but i changed it, because it was too easy. I've done this around two years ago. Example:

That's why i changed it to Year 12 and now i don't understand anything.. It's so hard to understand and the teacher don't help me, because he need to care about the kiwis and their marks. I need to catch up, but alone. I would do that stuff in Germany in 2 years - integral calculus, if you're from Germany. Hm..but i don't get marks, so it doesn't matter.


#5. Photography
That's cool, i like it, but our first task was quite strange, i should find letters in the nature and then photoshop them together.. here the result. 

 Now i working on a new task. You'll see the result in around 1 1/2 weeks ;)


 Last, but not least:
#6.  Outdoor Education
The same like Food Tech - theory is boring, but practical is awesome, breathtaking and the best i've ever done. We go caving at the moment and it's a really good mix between fun, adventure and feeling. We saw glowworms, a under earth river and many waterfalls. That was one of my best experiences ever! Because i love this picture - once again: 

Yeah, that are my subjects. Completly different to Germany, but great. I like it to experience something new :)

ps: next post will be about skydiven :O omg! on wednesday :D
     and sorry for my spelling mistakes, i wrote this post quite fast, because it needs so much time to upload the pictures that i'm a bit stressed.

Motueka High School

The school in New Zealand plays a important role especially for every exchange student. My school has two women who care about the internationals and everything around us. The school has the responsibility for us and that's why they need to know much about our activities. If you for example want to do a trip during your holidays you need to fill 2 pages out about when you are where and what you do and they also need to give you permission for all your activities (skydiven, bungee jumping - even horse rising). But that isn't complicated with the help of your homestay co-ordinator.

The school system here is very different from Germany. My school day starts with the form class - the teacher do the attendance and read the headings of the 'school news'. If you want to hear more to a topic you need to say "Yes.". This class is very boring and also useless. Nobody listen, everybody talk or check the mobile phone and that 15 minutes.

Also the breaks are quite long, but i don't want to tell you too much, because i will write a post about my subjects and a normal schooldays :)

• you really feel the school spirit.
• you only have really easy things to do (except maths).
• you do more practical stuff and not much theory.
• i have assembly every Monday and Firday.

Weekend in Riwaka

Hey guys ☻

i spent my last weekend in a little "town" near Motueka, because my hostfamily was in Palmerston North for the weekend and i couldn't come with them. That's why i change for 3 days the hostfamily to an older lady and her husband. Like i said, it was a really little town in the country in middle of nothing. The lady sells marmelade and Kurkuma and like to walk. They have no pets, but they care about the beefs on front of their house.

But the house was very creepy. The woman collect puppets and every morning at 8 o'clock a strange sound came out of my wardrobe :o i don't knoe what that was, but it was really strange. Also the man seemed as if he had lost all his taste nerves, he put so much salt on his food - you can't imagine how much that was!! And i also hadn't a good feeling to drive with them in a car, because they had a bottle of alcohol in their car with a blanket to put over it - you know? When you need it.

All in all it was a quite good weekend, because i was on friday in the school and on saturday with the girls in town, but i would not like to live there...

smallest cinema i've ever seen

Today i was with Leonie (a other exchange student of Mot High) in the cinema called "the gecko".
We watched "the Volcano - Eyjafjallajökull" in a very very very small cinema! There were only two other people then us.
The movie was in french with english subtitles and it wasn't so confusing like i tought it will be. I've understood nearly everthing - and it was a good and very funny film:)
One of the main characters is played by Dany Bonn and he's one of my favourite actors, so the movie was even better!!

G'day,

i'm now 2 weeks in New Zealand and it's soo beautiful.
I have now a big picture frame and a map of New Zealand on my wall and everything feels more like i'm home.
School is very easy and sometimes boring - for example maths, i've done the same topics 3 years ago -, but it's cool to try something new. My favourite subjects are Outdoor Education and Food Technology (cooking). At the moment we go caving in Outdoor Education and it's a big adventure and a awesome experience.
